Double Page Spread

Double Page Spread: WIP

 I started by using the picture I'd selected and moved it into Photoshop. I changed the brightness and contrast and then made the whole picture black and white. I then Left on;y the colour on the red guitar for contrast.

I added to the double page spread on InDesign and moved it around and cropped it until it fitted well.r

I added my hand drawn logo that I had made black on Photoshop to the other side of the double page spread.

After that I placed in the body text, in the guidelines, and added a Drop Cap into it.
I also added a quote from a band member, using slightly faded speech marks in the background of it and one word in red to add effect and draw attention to the word.

I the added a page number in white on a black background on the top left corner and a description of the photo in white.

Magazine Covers

 I added a guitar used mainly by metal players for this to make a funny contrast between string players from centuries ago and nowadays. I also added the make up for a slight contrast to do with how the musicians present themselves.

I looked at 'Three Musicians' by Picasso and recreated in it in a less abstract form but using a weird looking way of composing the piece, by using photos of the people and making the background my self in Photoshop  and using the stark background against the curved people.

Vector Portrait

 This is an unfinished part before I had the detail on the raven, his medallion around his neack and some detail on the face.

This is my vector portrait. It is from a picture of Nergal, the lead Singer and Guitarist from Behemoth.
I made it by outlining all the different patches of colour of each bit of the picture I then moved it to the appropriate place and coloured it carefully to be the right colour.  I think it worked well and I could have used it for a double page spread with it in the background going over 2 pages.

This picture is before I added some facial features and before I added the medallion.

Magazine Research

These are some magazine covers and double page spreads  I looked at to get inspiration for my own magazine. I used pinterest to find some and for others I went to W.H.Smith and looked for covers and pages I liked. 

Stencil Spray

This is my finished Stencil Spray.

 This is my stencil spray and how I made it.
I started by choosing a photo, making it Black&White and then making it only have two levels.
I printed off these levels and made them into stencils, sprayed through them and left them to dry.
I scanned them into Photoshop and placed them back together using slightly different colours for effect and finished off the spray by adding some splatters.
